Criteria for initiating an Amber Alert compared to a Clear Alert

Amber Alerts are issued when a child is missing, believed to be in danger and in need of assistance. An Amber Alert is typically used when a child has been abducted.A Clear Alert is issued when an adult or child has been abducted and/or is missing but there’s no evidence that the victim has been harmed or put in danger.

Verifiable cognitive impairment

First, there must be a verifiable cognitive impairment like Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.The person has to have a medical condition that renders them unable to meet the requirements of their license. For example, they can’t drive because they have lost their vision or are unable to walk safely.
